Journal of Molecular & Translational Research
What is quick peer review.
Quick peer review process is introduced to help the authors meet some of the urgent requirements with their publications. Like any other normal peer review process, quick peer review is also subjected to extensive peer review from the experts in the field. In the quick peer review process, the submitted manuscripts will be reviewed on an urgent basis for which the invited reviewers will be paid for their time. A decision will be made within 3 to 5 business days on the manuscripts that are submitted for quick peer review. A processing fee of $299.00 will be charged for all manuscripts that are submitted for quick peer review.
How fast is the normal peer review process.
We expect that our normal peer review process would typically be completed within four to six weeks. Occasionally, it is possible that the normal review process may take longer time than anticipated if the invited reviewers are academically occupied or are unavailable for review.
Is there any other fee that is not stated.
At this time, JMTR is not charging any publication fee. The only fee that is to be paid is the article processing fee during manuscript submission which is $39.00 per submitted manuscript. Manuscripts that are submitted under quick peer review are required to pay a processing fee of $299.00 during manuscript submission.
Why the manuscript format for this journal is different.
We adopted a simple manuscript format which may be different from other journals. The Methods section is emphasized and the authors are requested to provide complete details of the experiments performed even if they have followed it from a previously published paper. Also, JMTR prefers to include Results and Discussion together if possible.
Where can I check the status of my submitted manuscript.
You can check the current status of your manuscript by loging in your account at www.editorialmanager.com/jmoltransres. Please use the login and password that you received before submitting your manuscript.
My manuscript is accepted, when will I get the volume and page numbers for it.
A manuscript that was accepted for publication will be processed for final editing, formatting and typesetting. At this time, the authors will be requested to incorporate the suggested corrections/changes in the galley proofs. After we receive the final corrections, volume and page numbers will be assigned, and the article will be published online which may take up to 3 business days.
Do I need a login and password to access my published article.
No, the published articles are kept fully accessible to all, and the pdf file of the published article can be downloaded without creating an account.
Will the published articles be indexed in Pubmed.
Pubmed has preset journal quality evaluation and waiting requirements which all new journals have to follow to get indexed. JMTR is establishing all the requirements and is committed to get indexed in Pubmed. Like any other new journal JMTR would also have to undergo the waiting period for evaluation and indexing in Pubmed. Similar to all standard scientific journals, the manuscripts published in JMTR will be immediately indexed in CrossRef database with a DOI number and are traceable in popular search engines.
Why should I sign copyright when my published article is freely accessible.
The copyright belongs to either the author, or the authors institute or funding agency. Through this copyright, the corresponding author provides us the licence to publish online, distribute and share all the content in the manuscript. The signed copyright is required to publish and deposit the manuscript in databases for indexing such as CrossRef and Pubmed.
Can I share/present/re-use the published material from my article.
Yes, all users can download and share/present/re-use the published content "as is", and must cite it. Do not change/alter/manipulate the published content.
Can I order offprints.
JMTR will provide official printed copies of the published article. The corresponding author will incur the printing, packaging and postal charges. The total amount depends on the number of copies requested. Please contact the coordinator for the exact dollar amount.
Do I need to create an account with Paypal to submit my payment.
No, you should be able to pay the fee through Paypal without creating an account.
Can I submit a rebuttal letter.
No. The decision made by the reviewers and editors will be final. However, you can resubmit afresh after addressing all the concerns.
I would like to comment on a published article, what should I do.
We strongly encourage you to make any valid comments on the published articles. Please use our blogspot to comment. Alternatively, when our published articles get indexed in Pubmed/Pubmed central, you should be able to comment there as well.
